How Long Does Amazon Take to Review a Seller Appeal?
Amazon Sellers Appeal, operated by ASA Compliance Group and led by Or Shamosh, has handled 5,500+ seller cases since 2016.
We handle account suspensions, listing appeals and compliance cases, from the first review through submissions and follow‑ups.
There is no single review time that applies to every Amazon seller appeal. Start with the reply time shown in your Amazon suspension email or Seller Central appeal. Then check whether Amazon is reviewing a completed submission or waiting for something from you. The time spent reviewing one appeal is also different from the total time your account or listings remain suspended.
How long does an Amazon seller suspension last?
A suspension is not normally a countdown to automatic reinstatement. Read the notice for the action required and any specific period it describes. Gathering invoices or identity documents, responding to a further request and resolving separate ASIN restrictions can all sit outside the review of your first submission.
Keep two dates in your notes: when selling was restricted, and when you submitted the appeal now awaiting a response. Without both, “we have been waiting ten days” can mean two different things.
- Monday: Amazon deactivates the seller account.
- Thursday: The seller submits the appeal with the requested invoices.
- The following Monday: The seller checks for a reply.
The account has been suspended for seven days, but Amazon has had the appeal for four days. Count from the submission date when checking how long the appeal has been awaiting review.
This example explains how to count time. It is not a client result, an average or a prediction.
Does Amazon publish an appeal review timeframe?
Some Amazon instructions give an expected reply time for a particular process. For example, an Amazon staff guide to account deactivation appeals states an expected reply within two days. That is guidance for the workflow described there, not a guaranteed reinstatement deadline for every seller case.
Use the instruction shown in your current case. Record whether it says calendar days, business days or gives a specific date. If the wording does not specify, preserve it exactly rather than changing it into a more confident promise. A request for more documents is a response, but it is not approval.
What does “under review” mean for an Amazon seller appeal?
“Under review” is not an approval or a reinstatement decision. Check whether the latest case message also asks you to provide information. The status alone does not identify the checks completed or tell you when selling will resume.
- Acknowledgment only
- Save the submission date, case reference and exact acknowledgment. Confirm that the intended attachments were included.
- A request for more information
- List the requested items and any response deadline. The useful next action is to answer that request, not simply wait for the original appeal to finish.
- A decision
- Read its scope. An accepted document, a reinstated ASIN and a reinstated seller account are different outcomes.
How do you check your Amazon appeal status?
Use the notification and response route connected to the affected marketplace and case. Amazon’s account-deactivation guidance directs sellers to Account Health and the appeal view for further information. A separate verification or product-compliance workflow may use different controls. Keep the case reference with every saved response so you do not mix two reviews.
What should you save while your appeal is pending?
- The date you submitted the appeal and the submission confirmation.
- A copy of the appeal and the invoices or other documents you uploaded.
- Amazon’s latest reply, including any deadline or request for more information.
- The case number and affected marketplace, so your follow-up refers to the right appeal.
One dated folder or a short note is enough. You do not need a complicated tracking spreadsheet.
Why can an Amazon seller appeal take longer to resolve?
Missing pages, unclear product descriptions and requests for more documents create work that must be completed before the case can move forward. Multiple notices can also involve different questions. These are reasons to check your appeal and Amazon’s replies; they do not establish what is happening inside Amazon’s review team.
For example, if the latest reply asks for supplier information, the fact that your original appeal contained an invoice does not establish that the supplier question has been answered. Compare the actual request with the invoices and supplier details you sent. The invoice rejection guide shows how to do that with a simple example.
What should you do if Amazon has not responded to your appeal?
Confirm that the appeal was submitted, check for a later request and compare the elapsed time with the timeframe in your case. If that period has passed with no outstanding action, use the available case or support route to ask whether the submission is complete.
- Confirm submission. Find the receipt or current case entry. An unsent draft or failed upload is not a completed appeal.
- Check for an outstanding request. Review the latest notification and case, including any request received after your original submission.
- Read the stated timeframe. If it has not passed and no action is requested, record when you will check again.
- If the stated period has passed, ask a precise status question. Use the available support or case route and identify the existing submission.
- If you have new evidence, explain it. Identify the question it answers and the file that supports it, rather than silently replacing the whole appeal.
“For case [reference] in [marketplace], I submitted the requested invoice pages on [date and time]. The confirmation stated [exact timeframe]. I have not received a decision or another document request. Please confirm whether the submission is complete or whether any action is required from me.”
Fill in the details of your own appeal. Do not claim a timeframe was promised if it was not.
What if the reply looks automated?
Repeated wording does not prove that no person reviewed the case. Treat the message as the current response and compare it with the request. If it says there is insufficient information, use the rejected appeal review to identify unsupported claims. Sending the same material repeatedly does not explain what was missing.
What happens to listings, inventory and funds while you wait?
Track these separately. The account’s selling status does not, by itself, establish the status of every offer, FBA unit or payment. Read the relevant inventory and funds notifications and retain their deadlines. A pending account appeal should not cause you to overlook a separate removal, information or payment-related request.
For an individual product issue, see listing and ASIN reinstatement. Keep operational decisions tied to the actual restriction rather than an estimated appeal completion date.
What should you check after approval or rejection?
After approval, verify the seller-account status, each affected ASIN and any remaining action shown in Seller Central. Save the decision and check separate inventory or funds notices on their own terms. The seller appeal guide covers the wider appeal process.
After rejection, save the full response alongside the version Amazon reviewed. Before submitting again, identify what has changed: a missing invoice page, a clearer product description, a corrected explanation or a different instruction in the latest reply.
Need help deciding the next step?
Send Amazon Sellers Appeal the suspension email, submission dates and latest response. That gives the team a starting point for reviewing whether the case is waiting for a decision or still missing an answer.
