The documents needed to reinstate an Amazon seller account depend on the suspension reason. An inauthentic product appeal may need supplier invoices. Seller verification may require identification, business or address documents. Product compliance may require test reports and labels. Use Amazon’s suspension message to choose the documents for your appeal.
Does every Amazon seller suspension require the same documents?
No. Amazon asks for documents that address the reason for the restriction. Sending more paperwork is not the same as answering that request. An identity document will not explain where your inventory came from, and a supplier invoice will not show that a product passed a safety test.
Before collecting files, finish this sentence: “Amazon wants me to prove…” For example, “that I bought these bottles from this wholesaler” or “that my company is registered at this address.” That tells you which documents are useful.
Which documents should you send with an Amazon suspension appeal?
- Inauthentic products: the requested invoices, supplier details and any purchase or sourcing documents needed to explain the affected products.
- Seller identity or business verification: the identification, business registration, ownership, bank or address documents requested for that verification.
- Intellectual property complaints: the complaint details and relevant permission, license or proof supporting your response.
- Product safety or compliance: the requested test reports, certificates, product photographs, labels or instructions.
- Order or delivery performance: information about affected orders, shipping and completed changes to the process that caused the issue.

What details should match across your Amazon appeal documents?
Check your business name and address, the supplier, the product and the relevant dates. For product documents, compare the brand, size, color and pack quantity with the affected ASIN, which is Amazon’s product identifier. Explain genuine differences instead of changing the original documents.
Example of a product mismatch
You sell a rechargeable desk lamp, but the test report describes a mains-powered version. The brand and appearance are similar, yet the report may not cover the lamp you sell.
Ask the manufacturer or testing provider whether the rechargeable version is included. If it is, identify the page that confirms this. If it is not, find out what testing or documentation is needed. Renaming the PDF or putting both files together does not resolve the difference.
This is an illustrative example. The testing provider must assess the actual product.
Why does Amazon reject genuine appeal documents?
A document can be genuine but incomplete, unreadable or unrelated to what Amazon needs to verify. Common checks include missing pages, an outdated address, a different buyer name or a report for another product. Open the exact file you uploaded, not just the original on your computer.
For identity checks, Amazon’s US seller registration guide describes document and image requirements. Use the requirements shown in your own verification process, especially if you sell in another marketplace.
Can you highlight or redact documents before sending them to Amazon?
Only where the instructions for that document allow it. Keep a complete original. Amazon’s policy-appeal invoice guidance discusses limited price removal and product highlighting; that does not automatically apply to identity documents or test reports.
You can often explain the important detail in your appeal instead: “The company address appears on page 2.” That helps the reviewer find it without changing the document.
How should you organize documents for an Amazon appeal?
Use clear filenames and a short attachment list. State what each file answers and, for a longer document, where to find the important detail. You do not need a complicated coding system.
A simple attachment list for a water-bottle appeal
- Supplier invoice: shows the purchase by your business and the number of bottles bought.
- Supplier product description: confirms that the bottles are the same size and color as the Amazon listing.
- Delivery confirmation: supports receipt of that purchase, if this is relevant to Amazon’s question.
Use filenames such as “Supplier invoice.pdf” and “Bottle product description.pdf.” If you submit several invoices, add their real dates or invoice numbers so they are easy to distinguish.
The attachment list is an explanation, not proof on its own. Check that each file actually supports the sentence beside it.
What if you do not have a document Amazon requested?
Ask the issuer for a genuine copy or a correction of a real error. If the document does not exist, check whether the process allows another form of evidence. Explain what is missing and ask about that specific requirement rather than uploading an unrelated substitute.
For example, a new purchase from another supplier does not prove the source of goods you already sold. It may show a change in future sourcing, but that is a separate point.
Should you send extra documents with an Amazon appeal?
Include an extra document if it explains something the requested files leave unclear. A document confirming a company-name change can be useful. An unrelated catalog or repeated copy of an invoice adds work without answering a new question.
Can you upload an Amazon product test report yourself?
Check the process shown for the product. Some requirements use an approved testing provider that sends results directly to Amazon. In those cases, uploading your own PDF does not complete the provider’s step. Amazon’s testing-provider guidance explains the covered process.
What should you check before submitting Amazon appeal documents?
- Each requested document is included, or the missing item is clearly identified.
- Every page is complete and readable.
- Names, addresses, products, dates and quantities have been checked.
- Your appeal explains any genuine differences.
- The file format, size and submission method meet the instructions on screen.
- You have saved the final appeal, attachments and submission confirmation.
